As a nonprofit, Bpeace’s theory of change is rooted in the belief that when women have economic power, they are stronger voices for peace and stability in their communities.
During our rigorous Fast Runner selection process, we ensure that 60% of the small and medium-size businesses we advise are women owned or led. Once in our portfolio, these businesses often outperform their counterparts in terms of revenue and job growth.

Through our Skillanthropist network, we recruit successful international women business leaders. And through our networks in El Salvador, Guatemala and the U.S., we identify high-potential small business owners.
We then make a match: Skillanthropist advisor to Fast Runner small business owner for several months of customized advisory.
The measurable outcome: more women participating as leaders in their businesses and communities.

LEARNING SELF-ADVOCACY
Flor is on the leadership team of a major airline ground-handling and maintenance service business in El Salvador—traditionally a male-dominated industry. In charge of human resources, Flor and her team were too often relegated to simply filling open positions, rather than shaping a comprehensive talent strategy.
With coaching by Bpeace Skillanthropist and organizational development expert Angela Scalpello, Flor learned ways in which HR can be a strategic partner to all other business units. Equipped with this information, she was able to articulate her team’s value to her colleagues, earning their respect and assuming a larger, more strategic role in the company.
