The Business Council for Peace (Bpeace) is pleased to name Susy Cheston as its first Chief Growth Officer. Cheston has more than 25 years’ experience in micro and small business development, financial inclusion, and women’s economic empowerment. She first joined Bpeace as Chief Program Officer and now transitions to a new role to equip Bpeace to bring its high-impact programs to the next level of growth.
“Susy’s expertise in driving growth and building partnerships will be invaluable as we continue to expand our reach and impact in Latin America and the U.S.,” said Alexandra Salas, CEO of Bpeace. “In order to achieve our mission, Bpeace seeks business experts to volunteer their time consulting with small and medium businesses. Susy has been exceptional at identifying talented business leaders to provide pro bono consulting, as well as introducing Bpeace to new partners that bring talent and resources.”

Cheston has held senior leadership positions with the Women’s Opportunity Fund, World Vision, the Center for Financial Inclusion at Accion, and USAID’s Cooperative Development Program. She has also consulted for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation, AARP Public Policy Institute, and the Financial Alliance for Women, among others. The microenterprise development model she spearheaded in El Salvador has since grown to serve over 6 million people globally through Opportunity International.
