ADVISE CENTRAL AMERICAN BUSINESSES ON SALES STRATEGY AND PROCESSES

Leverage your knowledge and skills to advise Central American business leadership in devising and implementing Sales strategies to enable business growth.

You will use your experience to advise a Salvadoran or Guatemalan business in one or more of the following areas:

  • Understanding the Market: Guide market research and analysis to identify and understand target customers, competitors, market opportunities, and the company’s current position in the market.
  • Sales Plan: Evaluate current sales and distribution processes and assist in developing a strategic and tactical sales plan and sales projections in line with market opportunities.
  • Sales Team Management: Recommend best practices and essential tools to enhance sales team performance including KPI tracking, incentivized compensation, and sales staff training.
  • Distribution Network: Analyze current distribution network efficiency and advise on improved distributor relationship management, goal alignment, negotiation of terms, and communication.

Volunteer Skills Needed:

  • Extensive experience in developing and optimizing sales and distribution strategies.
  • Proficiency in guiding market and competitor analyzes to inform strategic planning and sales projections.
  • Expertise in managing and training sales teams, including implementing best practices for KPI tracking, incentivized compensation, and staff development.
  • Deep understanding of distributor management best practices, including initiating and optimizing distributor relationships.
  • Experience in developing standardized models and key performance indicators for expanding products into international markets and ensuring profitability.
  • Experience in the food industry strongly preferred, ideally with products common in Central America such as coffee and “nostalgic” products.
  • Experience consulting for small businesses, including the ability to identify core challenges, refine a scope of project, lead discussions to progress along defined scope.
  • Excellent communication skills to work collaboratively and provide clear and actionable recommendations.

Anticipated Start: This activity is expected to begin in August, September, or October 2024

Volunteer Commitment: Approximately 40 hours over 2 to 3 months
