MANUFACTURING PROCESS IMPROVEMENT EXPERT FOR CANDLE PRODUCTION IN GUATEMALA
Leverage your expertise to provide direct consulting to a group of five chain restaurants participating in the program. Bpeace will carefully match you with a business that has completed our diagnostic process to ensure that their growth goals and priorities align with your expertise.
You will use your experience to consult in one or more of the following areas:
- Process Assessment and Optimization: Analyze and document the company’s core candle production processes. Identify inefficiencies and opportunities for waste reduction, quality improvement, and cost savings. Develop a roadmap for optimizing production operations to enhance overall efficiency and consistency.
- Digital Inventory Management: Evaluate and recommend a digital inventory management system tailored to their needs. This system should efficiently monitor stock levels, manage raw material usage, and minimize the risks of stock shortages and overproduction.
- Standardization: Share industry best practices for developing and implementing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Guide on how to train the staff of these SOPs to ensure seamless adaptation to new methods and improved operational reliability.
- Continuous Monitoring and Adjustment: Introduce metrics and tools to monitor the success of new processes. Establish a framework for ongoing evaluation and refinement to ensure sustained improvements in efficiency and product quality.
Volunteer Skills:
- Proven track record in identifying inefficiencies and developing roadmaps for process optimization.
- Experience in developing and implementing SOPs and managing organizational change.
- Knowledge of digital inventory management solutions and experience in introducing these solutions within a manufacturing environment.
- Expertise in quality control methods to improve product consistency and customer satisfaction.
- Skilled in utilizing metrics and tools for continuous monitoring and improvement.
- Experience consulting for small businesses, including the ability to identify core challenges, refine a scope of project, and lead discussions to progress along a defined scope.
- Strong communication skills to provide clear, actionable recommendations to a small business team.
Anticipated Start: This activity is expected to begin in December 2024
Volunteer Commitment: Approximately 40 hours over 2 to 3 months
