OPTIMIZE BUSINESS OPERATIONS IN CENTRAL AMERICA
Work with a Salvadoran or Guatemalan business to optimize manufacturing and improve efficiency for greater future growth
You will use your experience to advise a Salvadoran or Guatemalan business in one or more of the following areas:
- Process Assessment and Optimization: Identify and document core processes, pinpoint inefficiencies and opportunities for cost reduction, and develop a roadmap for process optimization for more consistent quality and efficiency across operations.
- Standardization: Share industry best practices in process standardization, including the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), staff training, and change management to ensure smooth adaptation of optimized processes.
- Technology Integration: Provide guidance on integrating technological solutions to streamline workflows.
- Continuous Monitoring and Adjustment: Introduce metrics and tools to monitor new process success and a framework for continuous refinement.
Volunteer Skills Needed:
- Proven track record in identifying inefficiencies and developing roadmaps for process optimization.
- Strong background in developing and implementing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and managing organizational change for processes.
- Experience in integrating technological solutions to streamline workflows and enhance operational efficiency.
- Skilled in utilizing metrics and tools for continuous process monitoring and improvement.
- Comprehensive understanding of process improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen.
- Experience in the food industry strongly preferred.
- Experience consulting for small businesses, including the ability to identify core challenges, refine a scope of project, and lead discussions to progress along defined scope.
- Excellent communication skills to work collaboratively and provide clear and actionable recommendations.
Anticipated Start: This activity is expected to begin in August, September, or October 2024
Volunteer Commitment: Approximately 40 hours over 2 to 3 months
